Lunch & Learn – How is your boat sailing?

Lunch & Learn – How is your boat sailing?

How is your boat sailing?

Have you or your team ever considered looking back at the work you have done in last few months

or even last week and thought about doing things differently to improve.

Doing the same things again and again will not give you different results. So if you want to solve the

problems that you are having, and deliver more value to your customers or even improve team

morale, you have to change the way you do your work.

Retrospectives are good techniques to help teams to solve problems and improve themselves!

What makes retrospectives different, and what’s the benefit of doing it?

Firstly driving changes or improvements is not an individual thing, so one benefit of retrospectives is

that they give power to the team. Since the team members feel empowered, there will be little

resistance to do the changes that need to be done.

Another benefit is that the actions that are agreed in a retrospective are done by the team members, there is no hand-over! The team analyses what happened, defines the actions, and team

members do them. This is much more effective, and also faster and cheaper.

These benefits make retrospectives a better way to do improvements, give more business value,

help establish and maintain stable teams.

Where to apply this technique?

These techniques can be applied to any business or workplace or classrooms or anywhere where

groups are involved.

If you are interested to know more, please come and join us at this week’s Lunch and Learn session.

We are going to learn one of the technique called “Sail a BOAT”.
