Learn how to perform a digital marketing review for a small business, as well as the basics of online marketing, and connect with a local business to pitch your new skills.
Are you a small or micro business owner who wants to employ or already employs a young person to help with your marketing, social media or communications?
Would you like help to train them in digital marketing, but you don’t know how?
This workshop will teach young people the basics of online marketing so that they can be confident to create an impact, and help you see results for your business.
They might be using social media daily for personal use, but they need to know how powerful these platforms are for businesses too. Digital marketing is more than just posting pictures on social media. We’ll cover email, content and search marketing too.
In this workshop participants will learn:
* about digital marketing, including organic social, email and content marketing
* how social media is used for business (and how it’s different from personal use)
* why online content is so powerful (blogs, podcasts, videos)
* how to use apps and software that are ‘go to’ tools for digital marketing
Participants will then have the opportunity to showcase what they have learnt to the Canvas Community, which will give your business some additional exposure in the process.
When: The workshop is Monday 8th April – Friday 12th April, 8.30am – 1pm daily;
The showcase event is Wednesday 24th April 5.30pm – 8pm

About the instructor: Ellen Ronalds Keene is a teacher turned entrepreneur who is passionate about health and wellbeing, education, digital marketing and cafe breakfasts. She splits her time between her teacher wellbeing business, Self-Care for Teachers, and freelance consulting work supporting small business owners with their podcasts, digital content and course curriculum.
