Lunch & Learn – How to greet people who speak Arabic, not English

February 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST

An hour with Safa Edriss from Samaa Links.

Toowoomba is a very multi-cultural city. Things brings a wide variety of foods, flavours, scents and colours to our neighbourhoods. However, finding the words and body language to communicate with a new friend can be a little bit challenging to start. Join us this week, as Safa Edriss from Samaa Links helps us learn how to greet someone who speaks Arabic, appropriate physical contact options and a few digital tools to help make it easier to get a conversation started.

Join us at 12 pm on Friday 5 February to sit down and learn how to greet people who speak Arabic, not English!
In this session, Safa will guide you to get a conversation started.

What to bring?
A simple notepad and pen will be enough.

Bring your lunch along too!
We recommend either arriving early and using our kitchen (microwave, toaster, sandwich press, crockery & cutlery), otherwise feel free to stick around afterwards and eat and chat to other attendees or coworkers.
If you forget your lunch, you can pick up something tasty from the bakery, August Moon or La Taste.

Can’t make it in person…no problem. The session is also available live via Zoom (link provided after ticket purchased).
A recording of the session will be made available to Members via the Lunch & Learn Library.

Cost to attend:
Current Financial Members of Canvas Coworking can attend for FREE.
Guests are welcome to attend for $10.

Bookings are required to ensure we comply with COVIDSafe policies.
