Automation Tools for Business : Lunch & Learn

January 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST

Automation Tools for Business

Lunch & Learn
17 January 2020 | 12pm – 1pm

Discover how to connect your services, save yourself time and stop doing repetitive tasks with automation services.

Setting up automation tools for your business does not mean everyone will be out of a job and you can work a 4 hour week

…but they may help you avoid feeling overworked and paddling like a duck.

Do you find yourself doing the same thing every day, or perhaps even several times in one day? Does it bring you joy? Does it impact the experience for your customer? What happens when you aren’t there…does that action still happen? Do you have to pay someone else to do it?

Finding the activities in your day that are repetitive, but do not need to be done manually by you or your staff can not only improve your business, but also the happiness of your team and ultimately improve your customer’s experience.

Whether it is making something happen even if you are not there, making it happen quicker, more consistently or perhaps with fewer errors are all wins for your business.

The time that you and your team will save by removing those mundane activities from your to-do list will also give you more time to spend with your customers, or finding more customers….or perhaps with your family, friends or self.

There are many potential solutions to help you automate parts of your business…so how do you find the ones that will work for you, at a price point and learning curve that makes it reasonable to begin the process.

Knowing what your options are is the first place, and asking others who have experience can be helpful too.

During this week’s session Steph will cover the main players in the automation space, including:

* Microsoft Power Automate

* Zapier

Steph Piper

Piper3DP, Elkei Education and USQ Makerspace

Steph Piper is the Community Engagement Coordinator at USQ, looking after the library Makerspace.

She is also co-founder of Elkei Education, introducing electronics skills and positive role models to young girls. With a background in biofabrication, Steph also teaches classes in 3D printing, Arduino and Hardware development.

What will you learn this week?

You will leave this week’s Lunch & Learn session knowing:

How automation services might help you

What service might be right for you

How to prepare for this session?

To make the most of the session, please bring:

Your laptop and charger

Your email password

Your lunch (if you forget, you can pick up something from Flour & Bean Cafe or August Moon Chinese Restaurant, located next door)

Any daily work task that takes 5 minutes will cost over 20 hours a year, or over half of a work week. Even if it takes 20 hours to automate that daily 5 minute task, the automation will break even in a year.
